PURPOSE:To improve the electrospark machining properties while preventing fire from breaking out, by employing as a machining liquid in electrospark machining a mixture of water with powder and particles of a solid organic substance. CONSTITUTION:Pulsated voltage is applied between a work 2 and an electrode 1 from a power source 3 to carry out the electrospark machining. From a machining liquid supply hole is supplied, as a machining liquid, water 20 into which the powder and particles 10 of a solid organic substance is added from a hopper 9 via a valve 11. The powder and particles 10 are made of a polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl, or the like and are used in an amount of 20 to 30% by volume or less so that while fire may be prevented from breaking out the machining performance be made the same as in the case of kerosine or the like. |
