Process for the catalytic conversion of synthesis gas to form hydrocarbons

A process is described for the catalytic conversion of synthesis gas to form hydrocarbons in a continuous fixed-bed catalyst reactor. The process comprises the operation of a continuous fixed-bed catalyst reactor at a pressure above about 26 bar and at a synthesis gas feed rate which is above the feed rate which is characteristically used at a pressure of about 26 bar for forming the abovementioned hydrocarbons. In addition, a process is described for operating a continuous fixed-bed catalyst reactor which can be operated at a pressure of 26 bar for the conversion of synthesis gas to form hydrocarbons at a fixed feed rate. Finally, a process is described to increase the reaction rate of a continuous fixed-bed catalyst reactor via the reaction rate which is achieved on operation at a pressure of 26 bar for the conversion of synthesis gas to form hydrocarbons at a fixed feed rate.
