PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity and good image quality even in the case of simple rapid processing and excellent in storage stability and to provide an image forming method adaptable to practical use. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material contains a photosensitive silver halide emulsion, a developing agent and/or its precursor, a coupler and at least one compound of the formula (X)k -(L)m -(A-B)n (where X is a silver halide attracting group or a light absorbing group having at least one atom selected from N, S, P, Se and Te; L is a divalent linking group having at least one atom selected from C, N, S and O; A is an electron donative group; B is a releasable group or H and is released or deprotonated after oxidation to produce a radical A*; (k) and (m) are each an integer of 0-3; and (n) is 1 or 2). In the image forming method, the silver halide photographic sensitive material is processed at 60-180 deg.C development temperature.
