TEMPORARY FLOOR, FRAMEWORK FOR SUPPORTING SUCH A FLOOR, AND STRUCTURAL MEMBERS CONSTITUTING SUCH A FRAMEWORK

Cold-rolled mild steel channel-shaped members preferably strengthened by swaged grooves (9 and 10) and preferably having inturned lips (11) and downwardly turned lip edges (12) can be fastened by welding (a) mouth-to-mouth, to give a box-section vertical framework support and (b) back-to-back to give an I-section horizontal beam. The members can additionally be used simply as subsidiary horizontal beams. Mezzanine floor and like temporary support structures can be built up using such welded and single members, (to give strong modular framework of attractive appearance) and suitable interconnecting members, also described.
