PURPOSE: A method for controlling operation of refrigerator is provided to selectively correct temperature of one of at least two independent compartments of the refrigerator when the other compartment is used for freezing. CONSTITUTION: A method includes the steps of: a first step(S11) determining whether there is a compartment driven for freezing; a second step(S12,S13,S14,S15,S16,S17,S19) comparing current temperature of compartments not driven for freezing with +2 deg.C - 0 deg.C, a first set temperature, to independently supply and cut off chilled air to the corresponding compartments when there is the compartments driven for freezing in the first step; and a third step(S20,S21,S23,S24,S25,S27) comparing current temperature of each of the compartments with +1 deg.C - -1 deg.C, a second set temperature, to independently supply and cut off chilled air to the corresponding compartments when there is no compartment driven for freezing in the first step.
