The invention relates to a device for dry introduction of solid materials into a refuse pyrolysis reactor having a feed vessel and a lock vessel which is arranged above the latter and whose upper charging opening can be sealed by a liquid seal, and which is provided with a bottom closure. According to the invention, the lock vessel (1) is located in a fixed arrangement on the feed vessel (2) of the furnace (3), the lower end (14) of the shell of the lock vessel protruding into the space, filled with a sealing fluid, of a closure flap (4) formed as a cup (5), which closure flap is pivotable about a laterally arranged pivoting axis (15) from a horizontal closing position on the upper section of the feed vessel into a position in which it lies vertically downwards and outside the passage opening for the material to be treated. Preferably, the horizontally extending pivoting axis (15) is located in a laterally projecting housing (16) of the feed vessel, which housing extends downwards for such a distance that it receives the closure flap (4) when the latter is in its lower position. <IMAGE>
