The present invention relates to an arrangement for displaying information in the form of alphanumeric characters and/or graphic patterns, using an electronically activatable display unit (1). It is proposed to provide at least one picture tube (2) having a relatively small image area (8) for the display unit (1), and to image the information displayed on the image area (8) in the correct scale by means of an optical system (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) in accordance with the rear-projection principle on a ground glass plate (9) without curvature. The ground glass plate (9) is integrated into a screen workstation in such a manner that it is used as work surface (10). The arrangement according to the invention is used in text and data communication at the workstation. <IMAGE>
