In order, in a pressure vaporising burner for liquid fuels with a main combustion device and a preheating chamber, to guarantee a particularly favourable and purposeful utilisation of the hot combustion gases of the preheating chamber, it is proposed that nozzle and pipe of the preheating chamber are situated in a duct which is open on both sides and opens essentially horizontally into an essentially vertical, cylindrical housing which contains the main combustion device, and that the pipe ends at the opening of the duct into the housing and opens into the housing tangentially at its end.
