PURPOSE:To prepare high quality hydrocarbons having the same boiling point range as gasoline, in high yield, by using a catalyst comprising ruthenium supported on a mixture of crystalline zeolite and vanadium oxide. CONSTITUTION:A gasoline fraction having high octane value be prepared selectively by the catalytic reaction of synthetic gas using a catalyst composition comprising ruthenium supported on a mixture of crystalline zeolite especially having pore diameter of 5-9Angstrom and vanadium oxide. The mixture is preferably heat-treated in a reducing atmosphere such as hydrogen prior to the preparation of the catalyst. The amount of vanadium oxide is 10-90wt%, especially 40- 60wt% based on the sum of crystalline zeolite and vanadium oxide, and that of ruthenium is 0.1-10wt%, especially 0.5-5wt% as metallic ruthenium. The catalyst may further contain a transition metal such as Fe, Ni, Co, Mn, etc. |
