A liquid crystal display device contains a multiplicity of pixels arranged in matrix fashion. Each pixel contains an MOS field-effect transistor, and the field-effect transistors of the pixels are connected to rectangularly arranged row leads and column leads. The breakdown voltage of an insulating layer situated between a row lead and a column lead is greater than that of the gate insulating layer of the field-effect transistor. |
