PURPOSE:To make a connection loss low and also to improve reproducibility, by forming at least one ventilation part between a plug and a sleeve, and exhausting residual compressed air in the sleeve to the outside. CONSTITUTION:This optical connector connects optical fibers which each plug 3, 3' has by connecting the plugs 3, 3' by a sleeve 4, and the plugs 3, 3' and the sleeve 4 are made of plastic, and the connector is constituted by pressing and fitting the plugs 3, 3' into the sleeve 4 by utilizing its elasticity and assembling them. A notch is formed on the fitting face of the sleeve 4 or the fitting face of the plugs 3, 3' so that a ventilation part is constituted between both fitting faces. In this way, even in case of assembling by pressing-in and fitting, no compressed air is left in the sleeve 4, the connection loss is low and the reproducibility can be improved. |
