CATALYST SUPPORTING CERAMIC POROUS BODY AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst supporting ceramic porous body which is rich in micro pores and in which a catalyst is uniformly dispersed and its production method. SOLUTION: The catalyst supporting ceramic porous body is prepared by providing a porous ceramic supporting body (120) with a mixed solution formed by dissolving a precursor polymer of a non-oxide ceramic consisting mainly of silicon and nitrogen and an organic metal compound containing group VIII metals in an organic solvent, and heating the porous ceramic supporting body (120) to an intermediate temperature set in the range of approximately 200-400°C at a temperature rising rate of 0.5-3°C/min in a non-oxidative atmosphere, and then heating to a maximum temperature set in the range of 600-800°C at a temperature rising rate of 0.3-3°C/min after retaining the intermediate temperature range for 1-6 hours, and then cooling the supporting body (120) forming a porous non-oxide ceramic layer after retaining the maximum temperature range for 0.5-3 hours.
