PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand dryer which prevents an airflow jetting from a nozzle from jetting outside a hand insertion part and prevents dirt buildup and the growth of bacteria inside a drainage. SOLUTION: The hand dryer is equipped with a high pressure airflow generating device for generating the high-pressure airflow, a nozzle 4 for jetting the high-pressure airflow generated by the high-pressure airflow generating device, the hand insertion part 2 having a drain outlet 6 for draining water blown from the hands with the high-pressure airflow jetted from the nozzle 4, and a drain vessel 8 for accumulating the discharged water. The hand dryer is equipped with an air collecting opening (the drain outlet 6) which communicates with the hand insertion part 2 and collects the high-pressure airflow jetted from the nozzle 4, an air exhaust 13 which is provided on either side of a main body of the hand dryer and escapes the high-pressure airflow jetted from the nozzle 4, and an air passage (the drainage 7) for connecting the air collecting opening with the air exhaust.
