<p>A boosted hydraulic braking system for vehicles in which one braking circuit is actuated by a full power system under the control of a valve operable by a pedal or actuated master cylinder (10) and the other braking circuit is actuated by the boosted output of the master cylinder at a pressure lower than that of the full power system, as a result the front brakes may be reduced in size by operating at a higher pressure whilst retaining the lower pressure for the rear brakes ana thus avoiding excessive compliance. Further, the front brakes may be ailowed to run hotter as vapourisation of the fluid is far less likely to cause problems. Finally, the booster construction may be simpler than conventional boosters.</p> |
