PURPOSE:To facilitate the cleaning or the maintenance and inspection of a thermal head and to make it possible to easily remove the jamming of heat sensitive paper, by pivotally mounting the thermal head in a revolvable manner so as to be made separable with respect to a roller. CONSTITUTION:A thermal printing apparatus is equipped with a thermal head 10 having a heat generating part 21 for applying thermal printing to heat sensitive paper provided to one side surface thereof, a roller 11 for sending the heat sensitive paper to one direction while said heat sensitive paper is held between the roller and the head in opposed relation to the heat generating part 21 of said head 10 and a support shaft 29 pivotally supporting head 10 in the sending direction side of the heat sensitive paper from the heat generating part 21. In this apparatus, the head 10 is revolved around the support shaft 29 in a separating direction with respect to the roller 11. |
