The car radio includes remote control so that it and associated equipment, e.g. automatic tuner, cassette recorder, can be installed in places difficult of access yet still be operated in comfort - including the insertion and removal of cassettes as desired. This enables expensive equipment to be used since it can be kept out of sight of potential thieves and make removal difficult, e.g. under the seat. An ultrasonic transmitter can be used for the remote control. A transporting unit can be used to move cassettes to and from the recorder without requiring direct access. The cassette recorder can be slidably installed relative to the radio tuner so that it can be moved away from the tuner or radio by means of the transporting unit to receive a cassette and returned for playing of the cassette. |
