PURPOSE:To ensure the proper press-contact between a separating pawl and a fixing roll for a fixing device in which a frame having separating pawls supported with shafts to a frame holding a pair of fixing rolls can be opened and closed, by affecting a double elastic function to said fixing device. CONSTITUTION:A frame 6 holding separating pawls 4 and 5 is changed to a closed state from an open state. In this case, the pawls 4 and 4, support shafts 21 and 22, and folded fringes 25 and 26 are shifted in response of the closing action of the frame 6. Thus the pawls 4 and 5 get close to rolls 1 and 2. The shafts 21 and 22 touch stoppers 31 and 32 and kept there. However the fringes 25 and 26 move further to change the engaging positions of the pawls 4 and 5 the side face interlocking parts 4a and 5a. As a result, the pawls 4 and 5 move around the shafts 21 and 22 and by the energy of springs 23 and 24 to be pressed to the rolls 1 and 2. Meanwhile the pawls 4 and 5 never rub the surfaces of the rolls 1 and 2. |
