PURPOSE:To prevent an upper hull and a lower hull from coming into contact with a quay when the vessel comes alongside the quay by a structure wherein a recess, which is flush with strut, is formed at the protruded part of the upper hull and a cylindrical fender is vertically movably provided in the recess. CONSTITUTION:The recess 11 is provided on the upper hull protruded athwartship and the inside surface 11a of the recess 11 is made flush with the outside surface 4a of the strut 4. The cylindrical pillow shape air type fender 6 is arranged along the side of the vessel through a wire rope 8 and a davit 9 vertically movably by means of a winch 10 above the upper hull 2. By making the diameter of the air type fender 6 larger than the distance A between the side surface of the strut 4 and the side surfaces of the upper hull 2 and of the lower hull 3, the upper hull 2 and the lower hull 3 are prevented from contacting with the quay 5 when the vessel comes alongside the quay 5. |
