PURPOSE:To improve the processing efficiency of forms, by providing a means to switch the relative shifting speed and then switching the relative shifting speed between an image sensor and a form in response to the recognizing accuracy or the processing speed. CONSTITUTION:A speed switching circuit 8 is controlled via a control part 7. A form 1 is traveled at a prescribed speed with a business work which gives higher priority to the recognizing accuracy or the recongizing factor than to the form processing speed. While the form 1 is traveled at a higher speed than said prescribed level with the business work which gives higher priority to the form processing speed than to the recongizing accuracy or the recognizing factor. In this case, no change is given to the scanning frequency for each unit time and the formal is traveled at a high speed. As a result, the number of picture elements forming a reading pattern is decreased. Therefore the recognizing factor or recongizing accuracy is lowered, and the form processing speed increases in response to the form traveling speed. |
