PURPOSE:To reduce the replenishing frequency of an ink and to stabilize an ink level, by supplying the ink to an ink sump from a replenishing tank when the lowering of the ink level is detected by a sensor electrode to enlarge the volume of the replenishing tank. CONSTITUTION:A sensor electrode 14 is attached to an ink sump 5 in such a state that an electrode holder 13 insulated from an ink impregnated body 12 filling the interior of said ink sump 5 is interposed. An ink is replenished to the sump 5 from a replenishing tank 8 through a filter 5 and a pump 16. In this state, when the ink level in the sump 5 is lowered and the sensor electrode 14 is opened, the bias voltage of a transistor 22 is increased and the DS current thereof is increased while the collector current of a transistor 23 is increased to turn a relay 24 ON and a current is supplied to the motor of the pump 16 to replenish the ink. |
