A transformer tank (3) which is filled with oil for holding a transformer core having associated windings and which transformer tank has vertical tank walls which bound the oil-filled volume of the tank and are strengthened by means of a plurality of elongated channel-like devices (4) which are arranged on the outside of the tank. According to the invention, the wall of at least one of the said channel-like devices consists along the majority of its length of at least two channel-like elements (5, 6), at least one concave side of one of the channel-like elements (6) pointing towards a convex side of an adjacent channel-like element (5). The measure according to the invention results in a considerable reduction in the noise emitted by the channel-like devices. <IMAGE> |
