PURPOSE:To secure a friction material excellent in heat resistance, wearproofness and durability despite no mixture of any asbetine fiber, by compounding rock wool as an auxiliary base material in pulp. CONSTITUTION:This friction material can be obtained according to the conventional method while being compounded of rock wool together with pulp and an initial friction characteristic improver at the time of papermaking. A compounding ratio of each compounding ingredient to 100 part of the friction material is as follows: Rock wool 15-45 part, initial friction characteristic improver 15- 35 part or so and binding agent 20-40 part or so. |
