PURPOSE:To suppress the scattering mode and to improve the characteristics of a delay line, by providing a packing for input and output transducers coupled at ends of a delay medium. CONSTITUTION:The input and output transducers 29, 30 of the same thickness as the delay medium are connected to ends 23, 24 of the delay medium 28 such as glass having parallel major planes 21, 22 respectively. The packings 31, 32 having the similar acoustic impedance as that of the delay medium 28 and of the same thickness are connected to the back side of the transducers 29, 30. The tip of the packings 31, 32 is the shape not reflecting ultrasonic wave signals and an absorbing member 34 is coated. Through the constitution in this way, the scattering mode is suppressed and the characteristics of the delay line is improved. |
