PURPOSE:To eliminate the read error from being accumulated, by keeping a constant change mode of a sub-scanning speed until a readout period and a readout start timing of a picture to a band compressor are synchronized, and changing the change mode of the sub-scanning speed. CONSTITUTION:A buffer memory 8 accumulates a coded picture signal, the content is transmitted to a transmission line from an MODEM10 and applied to a buffer memory discriminating path 9. The output of the circuit 9 is synchronized with an output of an FF17, inputted to a speed state setting ROM11, and the speed change is decided with an output pulse of a frequency division counter 20. In changing the change mode of the sub-scanning speed, the speed is changed constantly until the readout period and the readout start timing of the picture to the band compressor 7 are synchronized, afterwards, the rate of change is altered. |
