Valve Actuator With Hydraulic Latching A hydraulic latching valve mechanism is provided integral with a control valve to hydraulically hold an actuator in an engaged position. Latching mechanisms normally require mechanical detents which add extra complexity to the valve assembly or external hydraulic lines on hydraulic latching which are always subject to damage. This mechanism eliminates the problem by having members located internally of the valve which cooperate to provide a hydraulic force to hold the actuator in the engaged position in response to the actuator being moved to the engaged position. By using the system pressure as the holding force, an actuator can be held in the engaged position for extended periods of time without inadvertent release.
|
