PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydro-forming method, by which the inflow of a metal plate in forming is controlled and a formed product having a desired shape and strength is obtained. SOLUTION: In the hydro-forming method, two metal plates 2 are sandwiched by an upper die 11 and a lower die 12, and inner pressure is applied between the two metal plates 2 by injecting high-pressure water between the two plates, so that the metal plates 2 are formed into a shape along main cavities 13. Bead cavities 14 are provided in each of the upper die 11 and the lower die 12. When conducting main forming by injecting high-pressure water to a main area 21 to deform the metal plates 2 along the main cavities 13, injection of high-pressure water to a bead area 22 is started at a timing either just at the start of the main forming, before the start of the main forming, or in the midway of the main forming, so that the metal plates 2 are deformed along the bead cavities 14 to form beads 23. At least one period in forming, a regulation state of regulating the inflow of peripheral edge parts 24 to the main cavities 13 is maintained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
