PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium which is capable of outputting a sound signal when a still picture, etc. is reproduced, by providing a multiplexed sound channel to a video track and at the same time by providing another sound track. CONSTITUTION:For a video disk containing a spiral track the distance between points A and B is designated to a video track TKV and the distance between points B and C is designated to a sound track TKS. Sound channels Sa and Sb are multiplexed on the track TKV; while sound channels S1-Sn are distributed to the track TKS with multiplexing of frequencies. The signal of each sound channel is extracted with plural times of scanning between points B and C and then arrayed in a prescribed order to obtain a series of sound signals. In addition, a complementary sound signal is recorded to the channel S1 in order to avoid an interruption of sound that is caused during a skip from the point C to the point B. |
