PURPOSE:To obtain an effective reflection section area of high efficiency over the entire prescribed band, by deciding the number of using elements in response to the length of a chaff element. CONSTITUTION:An aggregate of chaff elements which is used to reflection of electromagnetic waves is formed with n (n>2) types of elements of different lengths. The length of element is defined as li (2<=i<=n), and the number of elements is referred to as Ni. In this case, both li and Ni are selected so that the product of a square of li and Ni is always set at a constant value. The length li is changed in the form of a geometric series or so that the reciprocal number of the length li is turned into a geometric series. As a result, (n) types of chaff elements of different lengths have a resonance curve 3 respectively to obtain flat frequency characteristics for an effective reflection section area 4 of the element aggregate. |
