PURPOSE:To improve the resistance to heat and abrasion of a top charger, by laying ceramic liners of silicon nitride, silicon carbide, high alumina, etc. on the bottom or side plate of the charger. CONSTITUTION:Ceramic liners 5 consisting essentially of silicon nitride, silicon carbide, high alumina, etc. are laid on the bottom plate 2 and side plate 3 onto and with which the charge such as ore falls and contacts, in a stationary hopper 1 of a top charger. The ceramic liners are similarly laid on the bottom plates of a stationary chute and a swiveling chute and the bottom plate, etc. of a bell as well. The resistance to heat and abrasion and durability of the charger are thus improved and the conditions of the blast furnace are stabilized. |
