PURPOSE:To solidify the molten metal near an outflow port and to prevent the entry of slag in metallic powder in a liquid injection stage, by cooling the tundish slag prior to flowing out of the stage of the melt surface in a tundish. CONSTITUTION:A stainless pipe 13 or the like in which a refrigerant flows is inserted spirally into a nozzle 12 of the outflow port of molten metal 8 in a tundish 11 in a stage for obtaining metallic powder by injecting cooling fluid to the molten metal 9 flowing down from the tundish 11. A stop valve 15 is opened to pass the cooling fluid to the pipe 13 before the flowing down of the metal 8 from the inside of the tundish 11 ends. Therefore, the nozzle 12 is cooled, whereby the metal 8 flowing down in the nozzle 12 is solidified and th flowing down of the slag 9 floating near the surface of the metal 8 is prevented. The pulverization of the metal 8 contg. the slag 9 and the entry in the molten metal as an inclusion are thus prevented. |
