<p>PURPOSE:To delete a character train without changing the number of characters to be arrayed in a row, by designating a range of rows from which the character trains of a document are deleted to delete the character train and providing a space at the position of the character immediately before the pattern at the final position of a row. CONSTITUTION:A cursor is shifted to the position of the first row of the column to be deleted. A deletion range key of a keyboard 5 is pressed down to store the address of the CS position to a CS pointer CUP of an RAM15. Then the CS is set at the final row position of the column from which the characters are deleted, and the deletion range key is pressed down to stire the address of the CS position to a CS end register CUE. Then a deletion key is pressed down to confirm that the addresses stored in the CPU and the CUE are positioned within the same column. The fact that the value in the CPU is smaller than the value of the CUE is discriminated. Thus a desired character column is deleted in a range covering the CPU through the row containing the desired character of the CUE and without changing the number of characters and marks contained in each row.</p> |
