PURPOSE:To enable the operation in a short time without requiring much labor and skill of the operator in the stage of removing a metallic plate welded partially to a metallic member, by melt-cutting the circumference in the welded part of the metallic plate. CONSTITUTION:An electrode bar 5 of hollow carbon is brought into contact with the surface of a metallic plate 1 spot welded to a metallic plate 3 at a part 2, and an electric powder source 11 is switched on. A support 3 is moved upward on a support table 9 to detach the forward end of the bar 5 slightly from the plate 1. Firing takes place at this moment and an arc is generated between the bar 5 and the plate 1. A suction device 7 is operated to suck away the metal melted by the arc heat together with the air around the same from the forward end of the bar 5 at the point of the time when the arc stabilizes. A holder 4 is thereafter moved downward to the thickness of the plate 1 and the electric power source is stopped. |
