Folded cardboard cover strip for containers - uses cut outs to locate pot rim returns has flat upper section with outer V-section

The package group uses a common cardboard cover strip (1) to secure containers (20) of the goblet or pot type, each container having a returned top edge of which opposite parts penetrate cut-outs provided in the band. Hinges in the form of fold lines (3,4,9,10,13,15) divide the band into seven longitudinal strips comprising a cover strip (2), two flank strips (14,16) and two sets (5,11 & 6,12) of two connecting strips. When the band is folded for use the two sets of connecting strips each form a downwards projecting V whilst the flank strips return towards one another and parallel to the cover strip to overlap. The band is thus stiffened whilst the pots remain visible.
