发明名称 Feeding molten metal into mould - for the continuous casting of slabs
摘要
Molten metal is introduced to a mould, for the continuous casting of slabs, through a tube, its end immersed in the metal in the mould, and a submerged deflector below it. The deflector comprises a plate, across the axis of the tube, long edges approximately parallel to long sides of mould, and short edges to short sides. The ratio of long edges to long sides is between 0.25 and 0.35, and of short between 0.5 and 0.8, at the narrowest part of the plate. The plate is bent to a shallow V, its faces inclined to the horizontal at about 30 deg. The arrangement is a simple way of preventing non-metallic impurities, such as bubbles of gas, settling out in the continuous casting of slabs. Flanges may be turned up along the long edges of the plate, the ratio of their height to the distance between tube end and plate between 0 and 1. The flanges are inclined at about 15 deg. and the ratio of overall width of the plate over the flanges to the short side of the mould between 0.75 and 0.9. Similar flanges may be turned up along the short edges, inclined at 30 deg., and the ratio of overall length to the long side of the mould is between 0.25 and 0.50.
