Food flavouring using ethyl 3-mercapto-propionate - imparting aroma and flavour of concord grape

A concord grape flavour is imparted to foodstuffs by addn. of 100 ppt. to 50 ppm. pure synthetic ethyl 3-mercaptopropionate. The cpd. may be used alone, or with other flavouring cpds. in prods. such as beverages, ice-cream, candy, baked goods, desserts, syrups etc.
