PURPOSE:To provide a recording apparatus allowed to be installed in a narrow required space and capable of supplying an ink stably, formed by constituing an ink supply system from an ink trough and an ink supply pipe which is connected to a recording element at one end thereof while inserted into the ink in the ink trough at the other end thereof and moves in integral relation to the recording element. CONSTITUTION:An ink supply pipe 27 is moved in integral relation to a head 18 running to the directions of arrows R, L and, with this movement, the end part 27B of the supply pipe 27 is moved to the directions of the arrows R, L under the liquid level of the ink in an ink trough 26 to carry out the supply of the ink to the running head 18. Therefore, in the head 18, the emission of the ink from a nozzle is carried out on the basis of a drive signal supplied through a flexible wiring panel 24 to form a recording image on recording paper 11. The supply pipe is different from a flexible tube and, in running the head 18, the moving orbit thereof is constant while there is no variation in the running load of a carriage 19 resulting from the supply pipe 27. |
