PURPOSE:To avoid unnecessary power consumption and obtain a required auxiliary steering power by controlling the rotation speed of an oil pump depending on the quantity of the steering speed so as to invariably maintain the discharge quantity of pressure oil adequately in a power steering device of a car speed sensing type. CONSTITUTION:When a steering wheel 1 is operated and its operation is transmitted to a pinion 5 through a steering shaft 2, a rack 6 is moved to the left or right, and the steering angle of front wheels 10a, 10b is changed via tie rods 9a, 9b, etc. In addition, at this time a control valve 13 is operated, and pressure oil is fed to a power cylinder 11 to assist the movement of the rack 6. The steering speed is detected by a steering sensor 21, and a steering speed signal S2 is fed to a controller 20 through a compensation circuit 22. The control signal generated to decrease the rotation speed of a motor 18 for driving an oil pump 14 as the car speed signal S1 from a car speed sensor 19 is increased is compensated to increase the compensation speed as the steering speed signal S2 is increased. |
