PURPOSE:To use a packet in common efficiently by allowing the MODEMs of packet multiplexers for interline connection to send out both high- and low- group carriers in response to a carrier group selective indication from a multiplexer for connection. CONSTITUTION:The packet multiplexer 11 for internetwork connection sends the indication of high-group or low-group transmission to switching circuits 20 and 23 through a carrier group indication line 28. When the high-group carrier transmission is indicated, the circuit 20 and 23 connect a transmitting circuit 19, high-group filter 21, and modulating circuit 25 for which a connection path 1 is set to one another, and also connect a receiving circuit 18, low-group filter 22, and demodulating circuit 24 to one another. When the low-group transmission is indicated, on the other hand, the circuits 20 and 23 set a connection path 2, and connect the circuit 19, filter 22, and modulating circuit 25 to one another and the circuit 18, filter 21, and demodulationg circuit 26 to one another. |
