PURPOSE:To improve the material yield of a clip that engages with a groove surely when using, by rolling a wire rod to a flat shape simultaneously with drawing, and after winding it to a coillike form, cutting it to a single wound clip member, and blanking it to a desired shape. CONSTITUTION:A wire rod 5 made of hard steel wire, etc. having a fiber layer in the longitudinal direction is inserted between a pair of rolls 9, 9a and a pair of rolls 10, 10a provided at right angles to above-mentioned rolls. Simultaneously with drawing of the wire rod 5, it is rolled to a trapezoidal sectional form, and this flat member 7 is wound in a coillike form around a mandrel 6. Then, the flat member 7 is cut in the longitudinal direction to form a single wound clip member 8. Next, the outer peripheral face 1a of the clip 1 is made coincident with the outer peripheral face of the clip member 8, and only its inner peripheral face side is press-blanked to form a clip 1 having no inclination angle on the outer peripheral face 1a. Accordingly, it engages perfectly when it is inserted into the groove, and does not come off from the groove due to action of restoring force of the fiber layer that enlarges the outer diameter of the clip 1. |
