In a solar collector which can be evacuated, with a collector trough (12), a plate (1), transparent to radiation, sealingly covering the trough, an absorber (3) arranged under the plate, and support elements (7) which pass through the absorber, have a small cross-section and support the plate at places distributed over its surface against the action of the external air pressure at points from within when the collector is evacuated, it is provided that the support elements (7) are themselves supported against means abutting against the floor of the collector trough (12) and effecting a distribution of the forces exerted on the trough floor by the support elements to oppose the formation of impressions in the trough floor. <IMAGE>
