The invention relates to a mounting element, consisting of a radially overhanging retaining element for mounting objects having anchoring bolts whose anchoring part is formed by an expanding wedge which can be displaced with respect to the anchoring bolt and is inserted in a wall surface which is formed by a boundary surface running at right angles to the bolt longitudinal axis and a sliding surface which rises towards the front end of the bolt. In order to achieve a virtually slip-free anchorage of the anchoring bolt it is provided that a guide originating from the rear bolt end opens into the wall recess, in which guide an impact expanding pin is inserted which acts on the expanding wedge. Furthermore, the wall recess has a cross-section similar to a circular section and the expanding wedge has a profile matched to this cross-section in order to keep the cross-sectional weakening of the anchoring bolt small.
