The invention relates to a running rail for shearers, which running rail, assembled section by section, can be attached to the working face side of a movable face conveyor. The running rail according to the invention is characterised by a roughly L-shaped profile plate whose leg directed towards the working face is supported on the floor and is reinforced by a welded-on plate which forms a track for the shearer. A rib is welded in between the top end area of the jutting profile leg of the profile plate, which jutting leg can be attached to the side wall of the face conveyor, and the goaf-side end area of the welded-on plate, the bottom end area of which rib projects further towards the working face than the coupling parts of the rail section connection and thus prevents a collision between the supporting skids of the shearer and the rail section couplings. <IMAGE>
