In a briquetting press for the compacting compression of waste, in particular of comminuted wood waste and paper wastes, which press has at least one pressing piston which engages in a pressing channel of a pressing mould and is movable to and fro, a charging opening for the material to be compressed being provided in the pressing channel between the pressing mould and the end, facing the latter, of the pressing piston in the retracted position thereof, which opening is charged from feed channels which are arranged on either side of the pressing channel, are provided with feed screws and are at least partially open on one side, perfect feeding of the material to be compacted is to be ensured in a simple manner even in the case of unfavourable materials which adhere more strongly to the feed components, in particular also in the case of moist materials. For this purpose, it is provided according to the invention that at least two feed channels (15, 16) provided with screws (9, 10) are provided and are each arranged with an inclination of the same angle to the horizontal, their axes (11, 12) enclosing between them an opening angle ( alpha ) of about 30 DEG to 90 DEG , the vertex (13) of the angle being located approximately on the axis (14) of the pressing channel (4), and also the feed channels (15, 16) being arranged mutually opposite in the side wall region of a common funnel-shaped feed housing (7), and the feed channels (15, 16) being at least partially open towards the inside of the feed housing. <IMAGE>
