The rotating meter is provided with a vertically arranged measuring insert (14) which is guided below in the bore (20) of the housing partition (13) and whose measuring vane (18) rotates in the tubular casing (15) of the measuring insert. The measuring vane (18) is mounted below in the input bearing hub (16), which is connected via ribs (17) to the tubular casing (15), and above in the register (25, 26), the water current flowing vertically upwards through the measuring insert (14) being guided to the meter output by a deflecting funnel (7). The two exhaust halves, situated on both sides of the longitudinal centre plane of the meter housing, of the deflecting chamber located between the upper edge (22) of the tubular casing (15) and the deflecting funnel (7) are constructed as rib-free exhaust ducts, and the concavely curved water-guiding surface (8) of the deflecting funnel (7) is widened outwards up to the diameter of the retaining bore (5) of the housing head flange (4) for the housing cover (6). In this case, the deflecting funnel (7) is cast or injection-moulded in one part with the housing cover (6), in a manner detached from the measuring insert (14). The throughput of the meter is substantially enlarged and the construction of the meter is simplified with this construction. <IMAGE>
