For preparing curd cheese or similar products, containers are used which have an outer vessel and an inner insert, the insert being supported on the vessel in such a way that a gap remains between its wall and the wall of the vessel, into which gap liquid given off by the product situated in the insert can seep. In order to be able to remove such an insert from the vessel easily, a bottom part (7) is provided on the vessel, which bottom part is movable in the direction of its vertical extension against a bottom region of the insert and by means of which the insert (21) can be raised from its position of rest supported on the vessel (1) to the extent that it projects with its upper end (28) over the upper edge (4) of the vessel (1) and can easily be gripped there. <IMAGE>
