PURPOSE:To obtain magnetic color toners of red, yellow, purple, and sepia capable of forming a sharp color image, by using a toner consisting of a magnetic material composed essentially of gamma-Fe2O3, a binder resin, and a colorant contg. a specified azo compd. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic toner consisting of at least a magnetic material, a binder, and a colorant, the magnetic material is made essentially of gamma-Fe2O3, and the colorant is represented by the right formula in which R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 are each H, halogen, lower alkyl, or alkoxy. Preferably, said magnetic material is added by 20-100pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. binder resin, and 0.2-50pts.wt. said colorant is added to said magnetic toner. As the magnetic material, a magnetic material consisting essentially of gamma-Fe2O3 and other magnetic materials, such as magnetite and ferrite, alloy or compd. of iron, cobalt, nickel, or manganese, can be used in combination. It is suitable that the content of these magnetic materials is within 40wt% basing on gamma-Fe2O3. |
