PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive diazo resin having superior shelf stability and suitable for use in the formation of a photosensitive lithographic printing plate, by reacting a diazonium compound with a specified unsatd. compound. CONSTITUTION:A diazonium compound such as p-diazophenylamine is reacted with a compound represented by the formula (where R is alkyl, alkenyl, aralkyl, aryl or acyl; each of R1 and R2 is H, alkyl or aryl; and X is O or S), e.g., vinyl acetate or ethyl vinyl ether in about 1:(0.5-5) molar ratio in an acidic medium to prepare a diazo resin (high molecular diazonium salt having >=2 combined diazonium salt skeletons). The resin is combined with zinc chloride to form a double salt, and the double salt can be converted into various salts. The resin may be used by itself, or it may be mixed with a film forming resin. |
