A modular orifice meter construction comprising a main housing (12) wherein an orifice disc carrier (24) is positioned to seal around axially aligned flow tubes (14, 16). A service housing (38) with an access opening for replacement of orifice discs (26) may be bolted into the main housing (12). A closure (52) for said access opening is pivoted to the service housing (38) and is normally held closed by a wedging clamp lock (64). A pinion (72) rotatably mounted on the service housing (38) raises and lowers the orifice disc carrier (24) by engagement with a rack (70) on the carrier (24). An isolating gate valve (80) may be mounted between the main (12) and servie (38) housings.
