PURPOSE:To make it possible to keep running distance data even though power feeding from a battery is temporarily stopped, by detecting the fact that a vehicle has run over a specified distance or more, and writing the running distance data when a specified vehicle speed or more is reached in a memory circuit. CONSTITUTION:A signal 1 is obtained by a running pulse train 2, which is electrically generated in correspondence with the rotation of the wheels of a vehicle. A display control circuit 3 receives the signal 1 and displays a running distance on a display element 4 by numerical digits. A memory circuit 5 stores the running distance as an electric signal and keeps the stored contents even after the power feeding is stopped. The circuit 3 counts the pulse train 2 and continuously updates the running distance. When the pulse number agrees with a running pulse number corresponding to a preset distance, the running over the specified distance is detected and stored. When the fact that the vehicle speed reaches a specified speed or more is detected, a value corresponding to the product of the number of the detections and the specified number of pulses corresponding to the specified distance is coded and the result is written in the circuit 5. Therefore, the running distance can be kept even though a battery is removed after the engine is stopped. |
