NAVIGATION DEVICE AND NAVIGATION METHOD

There is provided a navigation device capable of properly guiding a movable body such as a vehicle at crossing and turning points. The navigation device comprises a display means and a control means. The display means displays map information on the display screen. Passing points are points where a right or left turn can be made and locate between a guide point where the movable body is guided to make a right or left turn and the actual location of the movable body. The control means assigns numbers to the passing points from the one closest to the guide point to the actual location of the movable body. The control means also displays the assigned numbers near the passing points on the map information displayed on the display screen. This enables the navigation device to properly guide the movable body at crossing and turning points.
